Squarespace announced Wednesday that Tock founder and CEO Nick Kokonas will be stepping down from the reservations platform he built eight years ago. Kokonas — who sold Tock to Squarespace in 2021 — will leave the company effective Jan. 2, 2023 and will be replaced by former Olo chief operating officer, Matthew Tucker. Tucker’s official title is senior vice president, head of Tock, and he will report directly to Squarespace founder and CEO Anthony Casalena.

“We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us as we continue to deepen and expand our portfolio of products for entrepreneurs,” Anthony Casalena said in a statement. “We are excited today to welcome Matt Tucker, who has a proven track record in leading product development and go-to-market strategies for tech companies. We believe his deep industry expertise and leadership will undoubtedly help fuel the future growth of Tock.”

Previously, Tucker worked for Olo for nearly a decade, and is also a board member of 7Shifts. In his new role, Tucker will be “overseeing the commercial success and growth of Tock,” according to a press release. Tock has expanded its capabilities to include reservations, table management, carryout operations, and events for operators across 33 countries.
