Las Vegas, a city with more than its share of glitz, is about to make room for more. Members of the uber-glam-rock band Kiss have decided to bring their global brand to the strip via a rock-themed coffee shop and miniature golf course.
Lest you think Kiss is new to the coffee game, keep in mind that Gene Simmons and company have five years under their studded belts from the first Kiss Coffeehouse in another tourism mecca, Myrtle Beach. There, fans sip on $6 Rockuccinos in the shadow of a 20-foot high pair of smoking boots at the entrance, surrounded by Kiss memorabilia and merchandise.
The Kiss Coffeehouse menu features signature Kiss coffee, including Demon Dark Roast and French Kiss Vanilla and a dozen flavors of the Frozen Rockuccino—“the most caffeinated and refreshing coffee beverage on the market”—along with cookies, muffins, bagels, tea and smoothies.
"The Kiss Coffeehouse is our way of providing everyone with the buzz of great, quality treats and coffee filled with enough sugar and caffeine to get the party started, and keep it going!" band member Paul Stanley explains. The gimmick appears to be working. Myrtle Beach fans have voted it the best coffee place in the area for two years running.
Johnny Rock, who owns the Myrtle Beach store and is one of the investors behind the Las Vegas project, told the Las Vegas Sun that he’s eyeing locations in New York, Orlando and Hollywood. “Las Vegas was the destination we decided to go with first. It’s where the party is.”
