Flavor of the Week: Thai chile sauce crosses culinary borders

Thai chile sauce is a spicy condiment made from chile peppers that is an essential element in Thai cuisine. Like many aspects of Thai cuisine, Thai chile sauce can have sweet and sour qualities in addition to its heat. Outside of Thai food, the condiment can be found on a wide variety of eclectic restaurant menus as well as at retail outlets.
