Flavor of the Week: Giardiniera spices up sandwiches

Giardiniera, a condiment used on sandwiches, hot dogs and pasta salad, is an Italian relish of pickled vegetables in vinegar and/or oil. It can be made spicy with the inclusion of hot peppers and is the traditional accompaniment for Chicago Italian beef sandwiches.
