Singer Equipment of Wyomissing, PA, created the winning entry in the Robot Coupe Showroom Display Contest. David Mouck, c.o.o. of Robot Coupe U.S.A. presented the $4,000 grand prize to the employees. The contest was open to Robot Coupe Distributors and was awarded for the most creative Robot Coupe product showroom display.
The Seafood Choices Alliance has selected Steve Phillips, president and c.e.o. of Phillips Foods, Inc., as a finalist in their Sixth Annual 2011 Seafood Champions Award. The award recognizes individuals and companies for outstanding leadership in promoting environmentally responsible seafood. Winners will be announced at the International Boston Seafood Show.
George Nicholas, founder of Nicholas Turkey Breeding Farms, was posthumously awarded the National Turkey Federation Lifetime Achievement Award for his long-term, unselfish dedication to creative innovation in turkey production. Jihad Douglas and Yan Ghazikhanian, Aviagen Turkeys, accepted the award on behalf of the family of Nicholas and the company he founded. Nicholas passed away in 1985. The company he founded is now part of the Aviagen family.
More than 200 chefs competed for top honors in the the Maple Leaf Farms “Discover Duck” Chef Recipe Contest. Chef Jeremy Smith captured the $5,000 top prize for his recipe, Southern Crusted Duck with Wild Bunch Demi. Smith is the lead line cook at Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Hotel, Marble, NC.
